As a youth delegate you’ll travel to our nation’s capitol and make lifelong friends with students from across the country. You’ll explore museums, memorials, and monuments, and get the opportunity to meet with Oregon’s congressional delegation. The best part—all expenses are paid by Salem Electric. Are you up for it?
The Electric Cooperative Youth Tour has brought high school students to Washington, D.C. for a week in June since the late 1950s. Salem Electric is looking for energetic, adventurous high school juniors and seniors who live in our service area to apply for an all-expense paid trip to learn about the electric utility industry and how the Federal legislative process works. Trip dates are June 17–23, 2023.
Nearly 50,000 high school students across America have participated in the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour over the years. Youth Tour alumni have gone on to design airplanes, lead companies, and serve in the highest ranks of our government, including the U.S. Senate.
Applications are available at Salem Electric or online by visiting our Youth Tour page. The application deadline is 5:30 p.m. on January 17, 2023.
