Journeyman Lineman
Journey level line workers are members of a crew and work to install, repair, and maintain electrical power systems. Work is performed on energized and de-energized overhead and underground lines ranging from 120 volts to 115,000 volts.
Essential job functions include preparing and setting line poles, structures and towers, and troubleshooting, repairing, or replacing insulators, overhead and underground transformers, switches, faulted cables, defective high and low voltage conductors, wires, equipment, and other related hardware. Hot sticking experience is required.
Applicants must have a journeyman lineman card, possess a valid First Aid/CPR card and an Oregon Class A CDL, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days. The successful candidate must pass a skills test. In addition, the candidate must pass a drug screening test and background check after a conditional offer of employment is extended. This position is part of a regular on-call rotation and must reside within a 30-minute response time to Salem Electric headquarters.
